Back Pain

Of all the reasons patients come to visit a chiropractor, lower back pain may be the most common. Whether you are suffering from a car accident injury or some other form of pain in the back, chiropractic care may make the difference between living in pain and having a pain-free and productive lifestyle.

In a wreck?

A car accident may affect the vertebrae in your spine, which may have been compressed or stretched. This may cause herniated discs and nerve pain. When your head whips back and forth in an accident, it may extend past its normal range of motion, and force vertebrae to move out of alignment. This may cause severe pain. Our chiropractor physicians may give you a series of spinal adjustments that may allow the vertebrae to move back to their correct positions. This will allow the surrounding tissue to heal and the pain to move away.

R&R TIP: Most patients require a combination of treatment options to arrive at a full recovery.

At The Neck and Back Clinics, our chiropractor physicians are experienced in a number of different treatments for pain in the back and spine area. Whether you are suffering from the results of a car accident injury, a slip-and-fall accident or another form of damage to your spine, we may find a form of chiropractic care to help with your chronic or intermittent back pain.

If the pain in your back is more chronic, you may benefit massage therapy, as well. With massage therapy, the affected tissue is manipulated, allowing it to relax and heal itself. We may also recommend physiotherapy to many of our patients. Physiotherapy can help speed your body’s healing process and reduce the amount of pain you have.

Whether you are suffering from the results of a car accident injury, a slip-and-fall accident or another form of damage to your spine, The Neck and Back Clinics have a tailored chiropractic care plan to help with your chronic or intermittent back pain. Contact one of our eight clinics today to make an appointment.
NECK AND BACK FACT: Physiotherapy [Nevada clinics]/physical medicine modalities and therapeutic procedures (PMMTP) [Arizona clinics] is simply a managed regimen of prescribed physical movement to increase range of motion and muscle strength. Physiotherapy [Nevada clinics]/PMMTP [Arizona clinics] also offers a combination of pinpointed exercises, hot and cold therapy and controlled movements, to get you on your way to recovery sooner!

SCIATICA (LOWER BACK PAIN)

Sciatica pain can be debilitating, coming in sharp spikes that feel like lightning strikes, or it may begin as a persistent, dull ache that sometimes morphs into radiating pain along the entire length of the leg. Tingling and numbness can “travel,” but pain typically only affects one leg at a time. Sitting and standing generally are painful, and movement is sometimes affected. Identifying the background cause can be problematic unless a specific trigger is identified.

NECK AND BACK FACT: The sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the entire body; when compressed or pinched, the resulting pain constitutes a symptom of something much more severe rather than a disease.

Even with no specific treatment, your sciatic pain often dissipates off its own accord, but it may last for up to six weeks. Cold packs and application of heat can bring you some relief, and gentle stretching exercises can be helpful. Chiropractic care, combined with our holistic physiotherapy [Nevada clinics]/physical medicine modalities and therapeutic procedures (PMMTP) [Arizona clinics] and massage protocol, is an effective method of helping you deal with sciatic pain and addressing its cause at the same time.

R&R TIP: Postponing treatment or ignoring the symptoms can lead to chronic and persistent discomfort, more acute pain, deteriorating physical condition and problems that are harder to address. Don’t delay, call today!

Finding and treating the underlying cause of sciatic pain is a better option, one that The Neck and Back Clinic Chiropractic physicians are equipped to help you manage. Why delay finding an antidote for the pain of sciatica? Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
