Headaches & Migraines

The only things worse than frequent headaches are frequent headaches that limit your daily activities. For many people, pain medications may not be the answer. Many want to identify and treat the cause of the headaches while others may simply want to avoid regular use of drugs. Some headaches occur as the direct result of an acute injury to the spine, such as a car accident injury or sports injury. Higher stress levels or environmental sources may also trigger headaches.

Fortunately, chiropractic provides a way to treat the pain and its underlying causes of many types of headaches, including:

  • Migraines
  • Concussive/post-concussive
  • Tension – headaches caused by muscle spasm or tight and stiff muscles on the back of the head.
  • Cervicogenic – headaches caused by neck injuries

Chiropractic care treats a headache and migraine problems by addressing the source of your pain. Our chiropractic physicians may perform adjustments to relieve headache symptoms caused by whiplash or other cervical spinal problems from a car accident injury. Postural corrections often reduce headache symptoms. Even migraine headaches can respond well to chiropractic care because the central nervous system controls all physical responses.

NECK AND BACK FACT: Our chiropractic physicians can provide chiropractic and therapeutic treatments to help with pain management, as well as preventative care to eliminate recurring headaches and migraines from occurring.
