herniated "slipped" Discs

Herniated discs are extremely painful and cause neck and back and leg pain, which may reduce your mobility and impact your activity levels. At The Neck and Back Clinics, we offer conservative treatment options for herniated and bulging discs.

R&R TIP: Annulus fibrosis refers to the fibrous ring of the intervertebral discs.

Through aging, repetitive motion, or traumatic injuries to the back, the annulus fibrosis may become weakened, resulting in tears or weak sections. When this happens, the nucleus can break through the outer section of your disc and cause a herniation. If the herniation presses against your spinal cord or any of the nerves coming out of your spinal column, pain and numbness may be experienced. Additional symptoms may include numbness, tingling, and loss of strength in the legs, and a reduction in bladder and bowel control.

Our chiropractic physicians can safely and effectively treat your herniated discs. Your initial appointment will include a thorough examination that may or may not include the need for digital images of your spine. Once the results of the examination are acquired, a personalized treatment plan will be developed for your pain management and recovery.

The Neck and Back Clinics offer physical rehabilitation or physiotherapy [Nevada clinics]/physical medicine modalities and therapeutic procedures (PMMTP) [Arizona clinics] to strengthen your back while promoting proper movement and stability and supporting your spine. When your muscles are strong, the spinal column is better supported and less prone to injury.

NECK AND BACK FACT: Our herniated discs treatment options also include chiropractic adjustments and decompression, massage therapy and rehabilitation.
